Because the development costs of the SDS were subsidized by The Humane Society of the United States and UNC Charlotte, you pay only the direct expenses associated with implementing the system in your organization. Approximate Cost for a Shelter Based on Number of Employees:
- 25 Employees: Approximately $825
- 50 Employees: Approximately $1150
- 75 Employees: Approximately $1425
If your shelter decides to have UNC Charlotte visit you, an additional "final visit" fee will be added to the bill to cover for travel expenses incurred by UNC Charlotte. The exact amount is dependent upon location. The base costs for the SDS service includes the survey, one open-ended question, and a final report/presentation provided by SDS. The final presentation may occur at UNCC campus or at the shelter itself depending upon location. In this presentation we will provide a summary of the data reports, discuss strengths and growth areas, and help generate ideas for interventions and solutions.
Optional Service: Additional open-ended survey questions
- One open-ended question is provided in the basic service. In an effort to customize the survey to your shelter, SDS provides the option to have additional open-ended questions added to the survey.
- Open-ended questions allow you to ask employees about a specific issue, solutions/suggestions for improvement, etc. For example;
- How do you feel we could better improve communication flow within the organization? Within your department?
- Do you have any concerns over specific policies and procedures? If so, what are they and how do you think they should be improved?
- Do you think problems/issues within the organization are handled appropriately? How could we better resolve these issues?
- In what ways do you think your supervisor(s) could better support you?
- Do you feel that there is enough emotional support from supervisors and coworkers to help you deal with stressful events at work? If not, how can we improve the support?
- What specifically makes you most efficient and productive on the job? What things can we do to make you even more efficient and productive?
- What things can we do to assist employees with stress management?
- What ideas do you have for employee recognition programs?
- What ideas do you have for increasing collaboration and communication between departments?
- You may purchase up to 4 additional open-ended questions as part of your assessment.
- For each open-ended question you add there are the following additional costs: $100 administration fee plus $2.50 per employee (i.e. for an organization with will 50 employees, the additional cost for each open-ended question would be: $100 + ($2.50 x 50) = $225.00
